Ingenious performance - but abridged!I can only agree with the critics praising Rathbone and Price. The capacity of both these readers to capture the respective moods of Poe's stories is fascinating and gripping. By mere intonation they manage to reinterpret the texts and let us perceive them with different eyes (or ears!) Yet, you should be aware that some of the stories (e.g. "The Fall of the House of Usher" or "The Pit and the Pendulum") are abridged, others (e.g. "The Tell-Tale Heart") are recorded in their entirety. This is why one star had to be taken away!
sehr interessantMan sollte sich ohne konkrete Vorstellungen die Geschichten anhören, denn man muss sich zuerst an die Erzählweise gewöhnen.
"The Tell-Tale Heart" zum Beispiel ist genial erzählt. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass wirklich ein "mad man" spricht. Das ist Edgar Allan Poe wie man es sich wünscht.
"The Bells" hingegen war etwas skuril erzählt und nicht so wie ich es erwartet hatte.
Aber insgesamt ist die Kollektion wirklich gut und Fans sollten dies nicht verpassen.
