On Mulberry Bend the worst slums of NYC were located and the Mission provides a chance for girls to escape misery and poverty. When a girl from the Prodigal Son Mission is found murdered, Malloy believes her to be Sarah at first, because the girl was wearing clothes Sarah had donated to the Mission. He is more than relieved that the dead person is not Sarah and reluctantly asks her to help investigating again. Sarah’s parents even agree to host a dinner to raise money for the mission. The more Sarah gets to know about the mission, the more exposed to danger she is, though...“Murder on Mulberry Bend” takes Sarah and Malloy to the “wrong side of the tracks” and yet again gives the reader a vivid impression on NYC at the turn of the century. The team of Sarah and Malloy is getting closer and yet drifting further apart as it seems, which adds more tension to this already gripping story. Moreover Malloy is working on who killed Sarah’s late husband and he found out some *very* exciting clues which might have results in the books to come!Result: A very strong buy!
