Roger Tallon is a key figure in French design and has worked in nearly all facets of the design industry: early in his career he focused primarily on domestic design; he then turned to aesthetic and institutional concerns; and later his practice became strictly industrial. His diverse accomplishments include his Teleavia portable television set, Lip watches, designs for the first high-speed train, Mexico's subway system, and the introduction of design teaching into specialist schools in France. This book includes critical essays on Tallon's impact on international design as well as many reproductions of his works. His international standing and his remarkably striking personality have earned him the reputation of a founding father of French design.
