The first architectural guide to Karl Friedrich Schinkel takes the reader from Aachen through Potsdam and Berlin to St. Petersburg. Detailed descriptions and colour illustrations of all the still existent buildings. March 13 2006 marked the 225th anniversary of Schinkels birth date. This inspired the publication of a compact guide and travel companion to all surviving buildings by this universally talented architect. The nearly 150 buildings range from churches and palaces past museums or technical buildings to monuments. Geographically Schinkels buildings are distributed from the Rhineland all the way to Russia, with a particular focus on Berlin and Brandenburg, where Schinkel created his most famous buildings such as the Altes Museum, the buildings on the Pfaueninsel or the Nikolaikirche in Potsdam.
