Alî ibn Abî-Tâlib

[42⇒] Alî ibn Abî-Tâlib, 4. Kalif, geb. 602 n. Chr. zu Mekka, Gefährte Mohammeds und Gemahl von dessen Tochter Fâtime, seit 656 Kalif, wurde von dem Prätendenten Moâwija bekämpft und besiegt, 19. Jan. 661 in Kufa ermordet. – Seine Anhänger bildeten nach seinem Tode die Partei der Schîiten (s.d.). [⇐42]
