Physician des City of London Lying-in Hosp., Assist. Physic. Accouch. am St. Bartholom. Hosp., Consult. Physic. der St. Paul's Infant Nursery. 1874 wurde er in Aberdeen Doktor. Er schrieb in den St. Bartholom. Hosp. Reports (1869, 1875): »The hospital midwifery statistics« – »The induction of premature labour« in den Obstetrical Transactions (Vol. XXIII): »The treatment of Spasmodic Dysmenorrhea and Sterility« – »Porro's Operation« (Brit. Med. Journal 1884 u. 91) – »Presidential Addresses on The Evolution of Obstetrics and Gynaecology« (Journal of Brit. Gynäcol. G. war Präsident der British Gynaecological Society von 1895 bis 97, und ist Examinator der Geburtshilfe an der Universität von Durham.
