[561] Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in foreign parts (engl., »Gesellschaft für die Fortpflanzung des Evangeliums in fremden Landen«), die erste protestantische Missionsgesellschaft, gegründet 1701, aber erst seit ihrer Reorganisation 1801 zu Bedeutung gekommen, hat als vornehmstes Missionsunternehmen der anglikanischen Hochkirche eine gewisse Hegemonie auf dem Missionsgebiet erlangt. Früher nur unter den Indianern und Negersklaven Nordamerikas wirksam, ist sie heute in etwa 60 anglikanischen Diözesen in allen Erdteilen tätig und beschäftigt etwa 400 Missionare.
