Porträtmaler, widmete sich der Kunst auf der Nationalmalerakademie in New York u. ging 1850 nach Europa, wo er sich in Paris u. bes. in Florenz weiter ausbildete. Werke: The wife's last visit; The whistle; Ecce Homo; Ruth and Naemi; Cupid and Psyche etc.
