Wehnreit), Jonathan Mayhew, geb. 1792 zu Liverpool in England von amerikanischen Eltern; besuchte das Harvard College zu Cambridge im Staate Massachusetts, war von 1815–17 Lehrer der Beredsamkeit an demselben; studirte dann Theologie, wurde Rector an der Christ Church in Hartford, dann an der Gra Church in New York, später in Boston, 1852 provisorischer Bischof der Episcopalkirche in New York u. st. am 21. Sept. 1854.
